Franklin Hot Air Balloon Festival

This past weekend, Southern Land Company’s Westhaven community hosted Franklin, Tennessee’s first-ever Hot Air Balloon Festival. More than 5,500 people spent the evening of May 14 at the festival, which was open to anyone. Proceeds benefit the balloon festival’s charity partner Mercy Community Healthcare.

Events such as this one are part of the fabric of Southern Land Company, which aims not only to create beautiful spaces, but to use those spaces to bring people together, whether they live in a Southern Land Company community or not.

During this event, professional balloonists illuminated balloons near the property’s lake at dusk. Tennessean reporter Melanie Balakit covered the festival, and the paper’s photographer Shelley Mays took gorgeous pictures. Scroll through the images above to see more!
