The First Green Hills Park Festival Slideshow

Green Hills locals came together on Saturday, September 24 to celebrate one of the neighborhood’s public green spaces in the first ever Green Hills Park Festival, presented by two non-profit neighborhood organizations –  Alliance for Green Hills (AGH) and Friends of Green Hills Park (FOGHP).

The free event provided food trucks, music and a sunset screening of the Disney movie “Inside Out” for families in attendance. The purpose of the festival was, in addition to having a great time, to highlight a public green space in Green Hills that has tremendous potential to become a great community resource.

The festival was postponed from its original date a week prior due to thunderstorms, but was well-attended by neighbors and advocates for a better Green Hills.

According to Alliance for Green Hills board member and Secretary Elizabeth Miller: “Although a few vendors couldn’t make the rain date, we had about 500 festival-goers in attendance. We were pleased with the turnout especially since this is the first year we’ve hosted the Green Hills Park Festival. The weather was absolutely glorious and the movie was a big success. The best part was hearing from families that our community really needed something like this.”

The event was a great step towards fulfilling the AGH organization’s mission of unifying neighborhood stakeholders (residents, businesses, developers and government), creating beautiful functional spaces and building a better Green Hills for all.
