In a year marked by economic recession and continued job loss, the Williamson County neighborhoods with the most real estate sales in 2009 were the big ones with diverse price points: Westhaven, McKay's Mill and Fieldstone Farms.
The new 18 at Westhaven Golf Club, developed by Southern Land Company and designed by Hills/Forrest, opened for member play this fall in Franklin, Tenn.
"It's hard to miss the serendipity of the course design and development process down at Westhaven," said Hills/Forrest partner Chris Wilczynski, who oversaw the project outside Nashville. "It's a testament to our clients at Southern Land Company and the overall master plan at Westhaven that this project got to the finish line. There are many outwardly similar projects nationwide that haven't made it that far and never will."

The new Harris Teeter grocery store in Westhaven Town Center opens today with a 5:30 p.m. ribbon-cutting. The 48,000-square-foot store will employ more than 95 associates with daily hours from 6 a.m. to midnight.
"Taste of Teeter" will immediately follow the ribbon-cutting, in which shoppers will be able to sample a wide variety of products available at Harris Teeter, including Farmers Market produce, Fishermans Market shrimp and Fresh Foods Market deli and bakery items.
Harris Teeter will continue to host grand opening events during its first three weekends.

FRANKLIN — The St. Jude Dream Home giveaway is just a few days away, and 5,300 tickets are still available.
That may be good news for last-minute ticket buyers, but it's bad news for giveaway organizers who, so far, are short of their goal to sell 16,000 tickets by this weekend.
It may be hard to fathom, but with 800 homes and counting, Westhaven is still not quite halfway to completion.
The neighborhood off Highway 96, west of Franklin, has gradually taken on the appearance of a little town, as opposed to a subdivision, with its retail component, Town Center, becoming a reality for residents this year.
