WESTHAVEN HOMEOWNERS SET TO HOST

Franklin, Tenn. – Community residents, area merchants, media and designers have teamed up once again to present the Second Annual Holiday Home Tour, taking place December 7 and 8 in Westhaven, a traditional neighborhood development located on Highway 96 West, just outside of downtown Franklin.  Westhaven is a development of Franklin-based Southern Land Company.

“We’re proud to be affiliated with a resident-sponsored event such as this one,” said Jim Cheney, Director of Communications for Southern Land Company.  “It benefits a great cause, and it really reflects the giving spirit of the Westhaven community.”

All of the proceeds from the event will be donated to New Hope Academy, a community school in the Franklin area, with an economically, racially, and culturally diverse student body, that exists to serve children from all socio-economic backgrounds and especially children of low-income families.

The hours of the tour are 6:00pm to 9:00pm on Friday, December 7 and 10:00am to 3:00pm and 6:00pm to 9:00pm on Saturday, December 8. Tickets are $15 (kids under 12 are free) and are on sale the day of the event at the Westhaven Resident’s Club. All visitors will need to stop by the Residents Club (401 Cheltenham Avenue) to purchase their ticket and to pick up a tour map.  This year’s tour will include eight homes of varying sizes and décor styles.  Decorators include Bella Vita Design, The Franklin Marketplace, Harmony Home, Red Door Interiors, Redo and A Room To Remember.

The tour, which was created and orchestrated by Westhaven residents, will offer visitors a glimpse into some of the neighborhoods’ most architecturally rich homes – each house decorated beautifully for the holiday season by local Middle Tennessee designers and decorators.

"This has really been an exciting and rewarding event for us to plan.  We had such great success with the tour last year and only hope to build on that this year by attracting even more people to support a great cause,” said Emily West, one of the residents and organizers of the event. “Westhaven is a wonderful community that comes together on so many occasions and we wanted to share some of the holiday spirit we have in our neighborhood with the community at large and raise money for a wonderful school, New Hope Academy, in the process.”

Those going on the home tour will have other activities available to them also, thanks to the sponsorship of Southern Land Company, Nashville Home and Garden, Artisan HomeCrafters LLC, Matthew West Music, GoodStuff PR Co., Frostings Cupcakes, Remax Realty Judy Anne Legg, HisWay Painting, The Franklin Car Wash and Reliant Bank.  Additional activities include horse drawn carriage rides for evening tours, hot chocolate and treats from The Good Cup as well as a visit from a silhouette artist from 6:00pm – 9:00pm on December 8th, who will create hand cut scissor silhouettes for those interested. Christmas Carols will be presented during the Saturday evening hours of the tour by New Hope Academy students.

All proceeds go to New Hope Academy
