WESTHAVEN TOWN CENTER ANNOUNCES 2 NEW TENNANTS
The Spectacle Shoppe and Townsend Academy Move to Westhaven
Franklin, TN – Westhaven Town Center continues to expand as two new businesses: The Spectacle Shoppe and Townsend Academy, commit to the quaint and growing commercial village in the heart of one of Williamson county’s most successful communities; Westhaven.
The first of the two to open will be The Spectacle Shoppe, an independently owned optometry office and optical boutique. The owners, doctors Matthew R. Morrison, O.D. and Bradley S. Grant, O.D., will operate an optometry practice with services that will include: eye exams for all ages, contact lenses of all types, ocular disease management, eye injury treatment, LASIK evaluation and co-management, and pediatric optometry. In addition to the medical services, The Spectacle Shoppe will carry designer frames and sunglasses with advanced lens options.“Our mission is to provide unique personal eye care in a comfortable environment while offering a designer eyewear selection that will better the way you see and the way you look,” said Dr. Grant, Doctor of Optometry for The Spectacle Shoppe.
Projected to open in Fall 2009, Townsend Academy will create an environment where children have numerous opportunities to thrive academically, socially, physically, and emotionally. The preschool will be owned and operated by Jennifer Rivera, Angela Garner, Stephanie Stanley. Rivera is the owner of the Gardner School in Maryland Farms, which was awarded Best Preschool in Williamson County in 2007 by the Best of Parenting Magazine.
Townsend Academy’s academic and development programs will aid in child development milestones by teaching infants sign language, toddlers social development and three to five year olds pre-reading and pre-writing skill development. Townsend Academy will also provide enrichment programs such as ballet, gymnastics, music, sports, and computers.

Presently three other buildings are nearing completion in WHTC – The Health and Business Center building, which features a Vanderbilt Medical Group practice, Sara Northcutt Dentistry and the Westhaven Pharmacy; The Westhaven Discovery/sales center building; and the Regions Bank building. Construction of the new MAFIAoZA’S, a 1920s New York-style Italian restaurant, will begin this summer, with opening slated for fall of 2009. In addition, a 48,000-square-foot Harris Teeter grocery store will open in the fall of 2009 as well. Seven luxury condominiums situated above the Discovery and Bank buildings are also currently for sale.

Once completed, Westhaven Town Center will contain approximately 250,000 square feet of commercial space and up to 50 residential units. Its design is focused on open spaces, water features, and pedestrian-friendly gathering places. The retail shops and overall design will be modeled after traditional commercial villages such as the Village of Pinehurst in North Carolina. Its architecture will mirror the traditional home designs found in Westhaven.
