Arthur Hills-Designed Course Opens Late Summer 2009
Franklin, Tennessee - Westhaven, a Southern Land Company community located on Highway 96 West, has named Chris Cauthen to the position of Head Golf Professional for the Westhaven Golf Club (www.golfwesthaven.com). In addition, Southern Land has named Jerry Craven to the position of Superintendent, and Melonee Hurt as the club’s Membership Director.
At present, the Westhaven Golf Club has more than 200 members. The club continues to offer membership opportunities to both residents and non-residents of the Westhaven community. The course is undergoing its “green-in” phase, and grading work for the club house construction has commenced.
“We are very pleased with the progress of the course and the steady growth of the membership,” said Cauthen, who is currently operating out of the Westhaven Realty offices in the neighborhood’s town center. “I’m equally excited about the team that we have in place to ensure that all members have a superior golf club experience. We’re anxiously working toward the first tee time.”
The Westhaven golf course was designed by the internationally recognized firm of Arthur Hills/Steve Forrest and Associates. The design is conducive to all types of skill levels, and is a “core” routing concept. Core routing means that homes will not be located on the course, creating a pure golf experience.
In addition, the club will offer:
• A full-service golf shop with a complete selection of top quality golf equipment and sporting apparel
• An elegant clubhouse, with the surrounding grounds manicured in an English garden style to be delivered in 2010
• Private men’s and ladies’ locker rooms
• Members’ bag storage
• Members’ grill with outstanding course views.
• A full-service banquet facility for events
• A championship tennis facility, staffed by top professionals, offering a full slate of member events and instructional programs
