- Tucker Hill Incorporates Distinct Development Philosophy -
Franklin, Tennessee – Southern Land Company, a national, full- service real estate development firm, (www.southernland.com) officially broke ground on its first single family community in North Texas, Tucker Hill, on October 16, 2006.
The 800 acre residential, mixed-use community is located on Highway 380 just North of Stonebridge Ranch. Tucker Hill (
www.tuckerhilltx.com) will consist of more than 2,100
homes at build-out and will contain more than 50 acres of open space along Wilson and Stover Creeks as well as a commercial district.
The Groundbreaking ceremony marked the commencement of mass grading on the property, and the preparation of 120 phase one lots which will be ready for homes in the spring of 2007. Presently, Southern Land Company officials in Texas are focused on the installation of utilities and infrastructure for Tucker Hill.
“Progress has been swift,” said Kathy Cunningham, vice president of marketing and sales. “The City and our contractors have made the early stages of grading seamless and we are excited about the accomplishments that have been made in such a short timeframe. We are off to a great start.”
The Tucker Hill property was previously owned by the Billingsley Company. Southern Land Company contracted for the property in 2005 and received final zoning approvals for Tucker Hill in the spring of 2006. Lucy and Henry Billingsley noted that numerous development companies expressed interest in the acquisition of the property. However, after seeing Southern Land Company’s Westhaven community in Tennessee (the community upon which Tucker Hill will be
based), their decision to sell the property to Southern Land Company was solidified.
