Proceeds go to the Boys and Girls Club of Williamson County and the Life is good Kids Foundation

Franklin, TN – Southern Land Company and Life is good® are joining forces to host Tennessee’s first Life is good® 5K and Watermelon Festival at Westhaven.

The event will kick off with a 5K race around the community which will culminate at Westhaven’s Residents’ Center with awards to the top finishers in several age groups. The day of fun will continue with great live music, classic backyard food, a colorful mix of good-time games and activities for adults and children alike.

Also happening at the festival will be the crowning of the World’s Greatest Backyard Athlete. Participants raising a minimum of $500 for the Boys and Girls Club and the Life is good Kids Foundation, will compete in a series of “backyard” events with one person going home with the coveted crown – and some serious bragging rights!

The event is being held on the grounds of Westhaven, Southern Land’s traditional neighborhood development in Franklin, Tennessee.

After the 5K, which kicks off at 8 a.m., the free outdoor summer bash will feature traditional backyard games, face painting, festive picnicking, Westhaven tours and much more.  Fun for all, the event will also feature arts and crafts, professional storytelling and magic shows, and great live music.

The Life is good® 5K and Watermelon Festival at Westhaven is an offshoot of the Watermelon Festivals that Life is good® created and has hosted for the past several years in Boston, raising millions of dollars for children facing unfair advantages.
