Development in Westhaven has progressed beyond home building, and developers are now in full-swing recruitment mode to fill in the gaps with retail and entertainment options in the community's town center.

Mafiaoza's Pizzeria & Neighborhood Pub will be the first restaurant in the mixed-use community off Highway 96 west of Franklin, developer Southern Land Co. announced Monday.

Reflecting the historic momentum that has greeted its launch, the Westhaven Golf Club will again increase its initiation fees effective February 15th. First offered at $10,000, the fee was previously increased to $12,500 shortly after groundbreaking. The current first installment payment of $2,500 will also increase on February 15th. The Club has also made a second release of 25 memberships to those residing beyond Westhaven. All 25 of the first such memberships released in August 2007 were reserved within days of their offering. On February 4, Southern Exposure Magazine and Franklinis.com held a banquet for all of the 2007 Sizzle Award finalists. Southern Land Company was voted Best Builder/Developer in Williamson County for the second year in a row. With the amount of growth and development in this county, it is a huge honor to be named the best.

Westhaven, the neo-traditional, mixed-use subdivision going up on Franklin's west side, is looking for budding golf course designers to come up with a vision for the 13th hole on the community course.

Westhaven won the 2007 Best of Parenting award for "best subdivision" by the readers of Williamson Parent magazine.
