21 Dec Southern Land Company Communities Spearhead Company Toy Drive
Southern Land Company puts a lot of time and attention into being a charitable company, and that was shown in its most recent holiday toy drive. The company partnered with three of its communities to contribute monetary donations as well as toys for local children’s hospitals and charitable organizations. Southern Land Company, The Lofts at Watters Creek, 3601 Market and Centric LoHi all participated in the campaign, aptly named the “SLC Toy Drive”.
Each community managed the SLC Toy Drive locally in their respective buildings. Residents and employees at each community contributed toys and monetary donations and the community staff personally delivered the money and gifts to their chosen charitable organization. Additionally, the Southern Land Company Charity Committee donated $500 to each organization to go along with what was gathered at each community.
Residents at The Lofts at Watters Creek in Allen, Texas contributed $1,250 and 139 toys that were given to the Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County, an organization dedicated to providing safety, healing and justice to children victimized by abuse or neglect in their community.
Residents at 3601 Market in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania contributed over 150 toys to Families Forward Philadelphia, a charity focused on providing help to homeless children since 1915.
Centric LoHi residents, which just opened two months ago and only has approximately 90 residents to date, contributed more than 50 toys to the Children’s Hospital of Colorado in Denver.
Southern Land Company is very proud of each community and their residents that came together to provide money and toys to children during the holiday season. Altogether more than 250 toys and over $3,000 were given to help children of need in our communities.
