A $270 million development now underway in Houston’s Upper Kirby area is expected to bring hundreds of jobs and new economic activity to one of the city’s busiest corridors.
Construction recently began at 2811 Kirby Drive, where developers plan to build a 38-story tower featuring luxury apartments, office space and new restaurants.
The project, led by Southern Land Company, is expected to create about 500 jobs across construction, hospitality and office work once completed, according to the company.
For some workers, the development represents a meaningful opportunity.
