SLC Homes begins construction on single-family homes within new Erie master-planned community
SLC Homes, the homebuilding arm of Southern Land Company (SLC), a national real estate developer of award-winning master-planned communities and mixed-use developments, has broken ground on the first single-family homes at Westerly, SLC’s 400-acre master-planned community in Erie, Colorado. To celebrate the start of homebuilding in Colorado, SLC Homes hosted the entire group of trade partners and consultants who have been and will be instrumental to their success going forward at a commemorative groundbreaking event.
Groundbreaking participants from SLC Homes included David Bracht, president; TJ Montoya, vice president of construction; Sabrina Marben, construction administrator; and Travis Hinners, senior superintendent.
“For more than 35 years, SLC Homes has developed an excellent reputation of producing unique, high-quality homes that complement the local communities in which we build,” said Bracht. “Westerly is SLC Homes’ introduction to the competitive Colorado homebuilding market. We are excited to bring the talents of our team and our attention to detail to the market alongside two well-respected local homebuilders who will help make this a one-of-a-kind community.”
Westerly marks SLC Homes’ first community in the Denver market. Led by Bracht, a 31-year homebuilding veteran with more than 20 years spent in the Denver region, the SLC Homes team at Westerly features talent familiar with the region.
“As we look to grow SLC Homes’ footprint, Westerly will serve as the perfect opportunity to demonstrate how our team creates extraordinary communities that are representative of their surrounding localities,” Bracht said. “We have tapped into a pool of talented trade partners, consultants, and associates that will ensure the homes at Westerly are an attractive addition to the greater Erie community and will enhance the lives of our future residents.”
Upon completion, Westerly will consist of approximately 1,200 homes featuring diverse designs within a traditional neighborhood setting. SLC Homes will build a variety of 1,900- to 3,000-square-foot, one- and two-story, single-family homes, as well as a collection of spacious paired villas. Inspired by SLC’s award-winning Westhaven community, SLC Homes’ collections at Westerly were designed by SLC’s talented in-house architecture and landscape design teams. Signature features of both the front-loaded and rear-loaded garage plans include spacious front porches and individually designed landscape plans, a high level of standard included design features, and elements of both a smart and healthy home focusing on comfort, security, and technology.
In addition to SLC Homes, the community will feature homes built by McStain Neighborhoods, based in Denver, and Wonderland Homes, based in Greenwood Village. Additional information will be available in the upcoming months.
While Westerly is SLC’s first master-planned community in Colorado, the company has developed several other multifamily and mixed-use projects in the state, including Bespoke Uptown and Centric LoHi in Denver, and REVÉ in Boulder. Currently, SLC is building a multifamily community within the Karl’s Farm development in Northglenn, a 64-acre mixed-use community featuring townhomes, studios, one-, two-, and three-bedroom rental residences; parks, green spaces, and trails; and commercial space.
In addition to Westhaven and Westerly, SLC Homes will build all of the homes in SLC’s recently announced master-planned community in Nolensville, Tennessee.
