With extensive experience in residential and commercial real estate law, James leads the legal function for SLC and its portfolio of active and upcoming communities across the U.S., providing strategic guidance on a comprehensive range of legal matters, including acquisitions, dispositions, financing, corporate structuring, development, operations, litigation, and intellectual property.
James’s background includes legal representation of developers, investors, and lenders in a wide array of real estate assets across the United States. Prior to joining SLC, James spent considerable time with notable companies and firms including Arbor Realty Trust, Inc./AMAC Holdings; St. George Asset Management, LLC; Greenberg Traurig, LLP; and Thacher, Proffitt & Wood, LLP.
James earned a J.D. from New York University School of Law where he was a Dean’s Scholar and a B.A. from Binghamton University. He is a member of the New York State Bar.
He is based in SLC’s New York office at Rockefeller Center.
