Central amenity to be designed by acclaimed architecture design firm Lake Flato
Southern Land Company (SLC), a national real estate developer of award-winning single-family, master-planned, and mixed-use communities, has opened homesite reservations at Lunaroya, a rare custom-home community comprised of 66 homesites elevated above Barton Creek and among the treasured landscape of the Texas Hill Country, marking a pivotal moment in the progression of the community.
SLC celebrated the opening of homesite reservations by hosting prospective homeowners and local city and county officials onsite at Lunaroya for a first look at the property and an opportunity to share the vision for the community, as well as initial details about Lunaroya’s forthcoming amenity program.
“For the last four years, we have meticulously designed and developed Lunaroya to be a truly extraordinary community,” said Brian Sewell, SLC president and COO. “We have taken great care and time to ensure it is a place that respects the incredible Hill Country landscape and offers homeowners a unique opportunity to cultivate a rooted, enduring legacy. The opening of homesite reservations is the first step in making the Lunaroya lifestyle tangible for discerning prospective homeowners.”
Lunaroya’s 66 estate-sized homesites, ranging from 1.5 to 4 acres, allow for generous space and privacy, abundant outdoor living opportunities, and a sense of intentional belonging.
“Our goal for Lunaroya is simple,” said Sewell. “It is to create a community that feels natural, purposeful, and timeless. Lunaroya is for those who value impeccable design and craftsmanship, quiet luxury, and authenticity, and desire connection and community. Just as importantly, it is for those who have a deep reverence for nature and appreciation of the land.”
A blend of modern amenities will enhance the Lunaroya lifestyle. A central amenity, the Lunaroya Club, will be nestled among the oaks near Barton Creek and will feature a suite of spaces and experiences carefully curated to evoke both tranquility and invigoration. It will be an exclusive haven for Lunaroya residents to further cultivate their intentional way of living, through wellness, connection, and celebration.
The Club’s health and fitness facilities will include:
- A movement studio for yoga, stretching, and group instruction;
- A cardio studio; and
- A strength studio.
Wellness facilities will include:
- Private treatment suites for spa services;
- A spa hot tub, cold plunge, and recovery lounge; and
- Separate men’s and women’s areas with lockers, saunas, steam rooms, and showers.
Social offerings at the Club will include:
- A club room with a grand fireplace;
- A demonstration kitchen with a scullery for events;
- An honor bar with private lockers;
- A dining area; and
- A golf simulator.
In addition to the Club and keeping the landscape and locale at the forefront, Lunaroya will offer a carefully crafted lifestyle program—a club without walls. Homeowners and residents will have the option to connect with various renowned wineries, golf courses, and other nearby destinations through custom experiences designed specifically for Lunaroya.
A stunning backdrop for Lunaroya, the Texas Hill Country landscape also supplies a bounty of natural amenities that are paramount to the Lunaroya experience. Abundant open space and trails leading to and meandering along Barton Creek provide further opportunities to be inspired by and connect with the land.
Lunaroya’s homes and Club will be designed with architectural grace, built to an exacting standard, and thoughtfully placed to preserve the natural beauty around them. An Architects and Builders Guild for the community will include select renowned designers and builders from Texas.
“Lunaroya is a design-forward community that will be second to none,” said Dan Hutts, president of SLC Homes – Texas, SLC’s in-house homebuilding group. “We require the very best partners who understand that great design starts with restraint and know how to create homes that belong to the land. It is our privilege and responsibility to steward this land well, and I am confident we are securing the right architects and builders to join us in doing so.”
While members of Lunaroya’s Architects and Builders Guild will be revealed at a later date, SLC announced that Lake Flato, one of Texas’s most respected architecture design firms, has been selected to design Lunaroya’s central amenity, the Club.
“Lake Flato is known for designs that honor place and landscape by embracing the land’s indigenous character,” said Hutts. “Their approach is exactly what we need and want for Lunaroya. We are fortunate to have them partner with us to create something authentic with our amenity.”
“Lunaroya is poised to set a new standard for thoughtful community design in Dripping Springs and the Austin area,” said Todd Wascher, Partner at Lake Flato Architects. “We are grateful to lead design of the central amenity, creating spaces of refinement, sophistication, and seamless functionality, all while paying homage to the stunning landscape on which it will rest.”
Interior homesites at Lunaroya start in the mid-$800k’s, and creekside homesites begin at $1.1M.
