Construction of wellness-focused amenity center is underway shortly after Westerly welcomes first homeowners.
Southern Land Company, a national real estate developer of award-winning master-planned communities and mixed-use developments, recently celebrated the groundbreaking of Westerly Waypoint, a premier amenity center for Westerly, SLC’s new 400-acre master-planned community in Erie, Colorado. Westerly Waypoint will be a hub of active lifestyle opportunities in and for the Westerly community.
“It’s important to us that homeowners and residents of every SLC community are given the very best opportunities and spaces to gather and connect,” said Brian Sewell, SLC President and COO. “Westerly Waypoint will allow the community’s first and future homeowners to participate in a wide variety of health, wellness, and social programming and activities. This best-in-class amenity center was designed to be the heart of Westerly.”
Start of construction on Westerly Waypoint marks a new milestone for the community, where home sales began in March and first homeowners moved in in April. Westerly Waypoint will be a state-of-the-art wellness-focused amenity center outfitted with a resort-style pool, hot tub, fire pits, fitness studio, remote workspaces, and community rooms. The indoor space for community gathering and fitness will comprise 5,000 square feet. Westerly Waypoint will be located within close proximity to children’s play areas and Westerly’s Great Lawn, where additional fitness classes, special events, and social activities will take place. A dedicated community lifestyle manager will develop lifestyle programming at Westerly Waypoint and throughout the community.
Groundbreaking ceremony participants included Sewell, Erie Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Pat Vero, and Town of Erie Mayor Justin Brooks.
Upon completion, Westerly will consist of a diverse collection of approximately 1,200 homes set within a traditional neighborhood design. All homes in Westerly are being built by well-known, longtime Colorado homebuilders, Brightland Homes and McStain Neighborhoods, as well as SLC Homes, SLC’s in-house homebuilding group.
SLC’s footprint in the Denver market extends to multifamily and mixed-use projects, too. SLC is currently building a collection of multifamily residences at the Karl’s Farm development in Northglenn. SLC previously developed, owned, operated, and sold the mixed-use projects Bespoke Uptown in Denver and Rêve Boulder in Boulder, as well as the multifamily project Centric LoHi in Denver. SLC has maintained a Denver office since 2017.
