Lantzy brings extensive community management background to elevate Westerly homeowner experience

Southern Land Company (SLC), a national real estate developer of award-winning master-planned communities and mixed-use developments, has named Laura Lantzy as the first Community Lifestyle Manager for Westerly, SLC’s under-construction 400-acre master-planned community in Erie. Lantzy brings more than a decade of experience  in the coordination of community and lifestyle events, which she will utilize to create and establish annual events and regular programming for Westerly’s residents.

“Community and connection are the foundations of Westerly and all SLC communities, and whether we have three or three hundred homeowners, we want them to be able to enjoy the activities and programming that help foster lasting relationships from move-in day and beyond,” said Heidi Majerik, SLC Vice President & General Manager of Westerly. “With her considerable background , Laura is the perfect person to ensure Westerly residents establish roots and feel connected to their new home and neighborhood.”

Prior to joining the Westerly and SLC team, Lantzy spent the last 12 years as lifestyle director for a master-planned community in Broomfield, Colorado. During her time there, Lantzy created countless community events and organized programming to connect residents and provide a sense of community. These skills will translate into her role at Westerly, where she will establish signature events and programs intended to grow the neighborhood and connect Westerly homeowners with each other and members of the greater Erie community.

“It is an honor to have joined the Westerly team in the community’s early, formative stages, in which we can plan events and programs that will set the precedent for how Westerly residents can form neighborly connections and lifelong memories,” said Lantzy. “As we already have welcomed the first homeowners to the neighborhood, it’s exciting to be able to start from scratch and establish what will be longstanding community traditions and experiences.”

Westerly’s traditional neighborhood design was inspired by Westhaven, SLC’s award-winning flagship master-planned community in Franklin, Tennessee. Lantzy intends to introduce events that have proven popular Westhaven, such as coffee on the porch, charitable 5K races, and an annual holiday tree lighting celebration. She also plans to incorporate family-friendly events that complement Colorado’s seasons, including a fall festival.

Upon completion, Westerly will consist of a diverse collection of approximately 1,200 homes within a traditional neighborhood setting. Homeowners will enjoy sweeping views of the entire Front Range along with a variety of trails and more than 100 acres of the community that are dedicated to parks and open spaces. A community village  center is planned, which is expected to include a collection of neighborhood services, restaurants, and shops within the approximately 35,000 square feet of commercial space. Westerly will also feature gathering areas for fitness and outdoor recreation, including a swimming pool, great, lawn, and various play areas, that can be used for resident events and programs. There will also be an approximately 5,000-square-foot amenity center with indoor space for community gathering and  fitness.

Westerly welcomed its first homeowners in May.

In addition to creating a new residential community, SLC will make significant investments to benefit the entire Erie community. SLC has plans in place to improve County Road 5 and Erie Parkway and to fund improvements to County Road 7. Additionally, SLC will provide 10 acres and $3 million to the Town of Erie for the creation of a new neighborhood park and will donate 15 acres within Westerly to St. Vrain Valley School District for a planned middle school, which will be highly walkable for students.

In addition to Westerly and Westhaven, SLC is also the developer of the Tucker Hill master-planned community in McKinney, Texas; and Lunaroya, a 28-homesite luxury home community in the Texas Hill Country. Additionally, SLC has a 373-acre master-planned community underway in Nolensville, Tennessee.
